Microsurgery to save your natural tooth.
Sometimes, an infection persists or returns after a root canal treatment. An apicoectomy, or root-end resection, is a minor surgical procedure where we remove the very tip of the tooth root and seal it to stop the infection.
Using advanced microsurgical techniques, we access the gum tissue near the tooth to remove the inflamed tissue and the end of the root. A small filling is placed to seal the end of the root canal, and a few stitches are placed to help the tissue heal.
We are dedicated to saving your natural teeth whenever possible.
